HEAVY FUEL OIL 180CST; 380CST

Is used to refer only to the heaviest commercial fuel that can be obtained from crude oil, heavier than gasoline and naphtha.

1. Heavy Fuel Oil 180 CST (Centistoke):

    • Description: Heavy Fuel Oil 180 CST is a type of residual fuel oil with a viscosity of 180 centistokes at a specific temperature. It is a heavy and dense fuel oil derived from the refining process.
    • Properties: HFO 180 CST is characterized by its high viscosity, making it suitable for use in various industrial applications, including power generation and marine engines.
    • Applications: This grade of heavy fuel oil is commonly used in large stationary engines, power plants, and marine vessels that require a dense and energy-rich fuel.

2. Heavy Fuel Oil 380 CST (Centistoke):

    • Description: Heavy Fuel Oil 380 CST is another type of residual fuel oil with a higher viscosity, typically around 380 centistokes at the specified temperature.
    • Properties: HFO 380 CST is even denser and more viscous than HFO 180 CST, making it suitable for specific industrial and marine applications that demand a heavier fuel.
    • Applications: Used in marine engines, large boilers, and industrial processes where a higher viscosity and energy content are required.

Overall Classification: Heavy Fuel Oil (HFO) is categorized based on its viscosity, with 180 CST and 380 CST representing different levels of thickness and density. These grades of HFO are primarily used in applications that require a dense and energy-rich fuel source, such as marine engines and industrial power generation.
