BASE OIL SN 150; SN500

is produced by means of refining crude oil. This means that crude oil is heated in order that various distillaters can be separated from one another. There are three types of base oils: mineral, vegetable, and synthetic.

Base Oil Classification:

1. SN 150 (Solvent Neutral 150):

    • Description: SN 150 is a type of base oil that falls into the category of Group I base oils. It is used as a base stock for various lubricants and industrial applications.
    • Properties: SN 150 base oil has a relatively low viscosity, making it suitable for applications where a lighter lubricating oil is required. It is derived from the refining of crude oil.

2. SN 500 (Solvent Neutral 500):

    • Description: SN 500 is another type of base oil, also belonging to Group I base oils. It is commonly used as a base stock for the production of lubricants.
    • Properties: SN 500 base oil has a slightly higher viscosity compared to SN 150. It is used in applications that require a slightly heavier lubricating oil and is obtained through the refining process of crude oil.

Overall Classification: Base oils, such as SN 150 and SN 500, are categorized based on their properties and viscosity. These base oils serve as essential components in the production of various lubricants and industrial fluids, each offering specific characteristics to meet different application needs.
